Dipropylene Glycol (DPG)
Dipropylene Glycol (DPG) is an odorless, colorless carrier (diluent) used for diluting certain aromatic compounds (check solubility on The Good Scents Co). DPG is also a common diluent for fragrance when used in cosmetics such as shower gel and shampoo.
DPG is not a food grade product.
Fractionated Coconut Oil
Fractionated Coconut Oil is a colorless, scentless fixed oil used for making oil based perfumes. This is not a food grade product.
This is a material used for the fixing of top and some middle notes. For example, experiments performed in house show that Sweet Orange essential oil (one of the most fleeting of scents- usually lasting only two minutes on the skin) was increased to last half an hour or more on the skin.
Use up to 5% of your fragrance formula concentrate, but experiment! Using too much will "flatten" a fragrance.
Hercolyn D is used as a fixative and carrier. Very low odor strength, but with a slight amber and balsam scent.
