Welcome to the Perfumer's Corner!

The formulas presented here are educational examples of modern fragrance accords. They were created by the perfumers at Givaudan (www.givaudan.com) as educational exercises that just happen to be very beautiful. You need not have every component to create these, and you can always make substitutions. This is a great way to learn what these chems can do!

Marine Accord

These measurements are in grams and would make 100 grams of concentrate.
If you have a gram scale, you could divide each component by 10 to make 10 grams
To handle the solid components, you would just pre-dilute and adjust the formula.
You can also do this by drops as a learning exercise. just add a small touch of ambroxan, which is a crystal

Hedione - (very light all-around enhancer) - 58
Galaxolide 50% (musk) 28
Iso e super (smooth woody amber - velvety) 8
Habanolide (sweet musk) - 6 Ambroxan (or similar - here you can experiment) 2 (this is a powder)
Ethyl linalool (lighly floral) 6
Helional (ozone) 4
Calone (marine) (this is a solid, heat gently to melt) 2

The Hedione,Galaxolide and Iso e super provide a smooth "cushion"
for the sharper marine/ozone notes.
The ambroxan is not really necessary, but adds an ambery elegance.
The ethyl linalool gives a nice light floral touch, also optional.
Ultrazur could be substituted for the calone. Experiment!
